Unit 009 is one of my first MU conversions and a very early conversion at that.
Lima DMU's had only just been bought out on the market, and my personal feeling was to take to it with a razor-saw !
Honestly, DMU's were not interesting as I lived in the West Country, and these were common-place, so an EMU not previously modelled was more appropriate to my 25kV layout in the family home's loft.

The driving vehicles were the most difficult to build as the cab needed to be added to a standard DMU body. Unfortunately, one of the driving ends had a mishap prior to photography and so is conspicuous by it's abscence !
Although window-layout was not strictly adhered to, the end result is passable enough to be a class 304, although current thoughts are to modify it to a 305.

The final view of the 304 is of the MBS which looks strange with a pantograph on top of what appears to be a perfectly normal DMU base !
As no extra coaches other than the make-up of the unit were to be hauled, the traction is bog-standard Lima with no additional traction weight.
Consideration is being put to the fitting of additional pick-ups to improve performance.
