As the club that I was with had a double-track main-line layout calling out for a fast locomotive, I decided that a Deltic was called for.
As there was already a version of 55022 with twin motor-bogies at the club, I had to be different. Deltic is a Kitmaster kit built over the top of a Lima Deltic chassis, although D9009 Alycidon likes to borrow the chassis back on occasions as I only have one set of bogies and a motor (although D9009 is awaiting a repaint and is currently out of use).
Only running with a standard Lima ringfield motor, albeit down-geared for a more realistic speed with more torque, the power will one day be further improved as I have a Buhler 8-pole motor that can fit inside the spacious confines of these bodies that should provide adequate traction !
