| Corn Steep Liquor. |
| Introduction |
| This is the liquor produced when maize is
soaked in the corn wet milling process. It contains
valuable protein from the grains and is usually condensed
by evaporation. |
| Origin |
| UK. |
| Nutritional Information |
| Contains much of the soluble protein from
maize and is ideal in a liquid feed, mixed with molasses,
resulting in high energy, protein and sugars. Can improve
forage intake as it is very palatable. |
| Colour/Texture |
| Yellow/brown viscous liquid. |
| Palatability |
| Very palatable slightly salty. |
| Limits on Usage |
| Physical consistency may vary and gelling
may produce physical problems. pH is low (4-5) Potassium
and salt levels are high which can cause scouring at
higher levels. |
