Gala Guide

When you are selected to swim in a Gala

  • Tick your name on the squad list ASAP
  • If circumstances change contact your Team Manager.

Gala’s can be very busy

  • Plan to arrive in plenty of time (at least 15 minutes before the warm-up)
  • As soon as you arrive report to the Team Manager
  • Get changed, pack your clothes into your bag and take it with you to the poolside, do not leave anything in the changing room.
  • Listen to the Officials.
  • Please be quiet at the start of each race, then cheer as loud as you can.
  • Swim as fast as you can, just try your hardest and everyone will be happy.
  • At the end of the race stay in the water until you are told to get out by the Referee.
  • Do not worry about the points, leave that to the Coach and Team Manager.
  • When you have finished your last event, either stay by the poolside or go and get changed. If you decide to get changed make sure you tell an adult so they know you are safe.

. . . . and enjoy yourself !
