How to Join & Membership Fees Joining could not be easier. Visit Erdington Swimming Pool any Monday evening or Wyndley Swimming Pool on Thursday evening between 6.30 - 8.00 p.m. or email boldmere@btinternet.com
Boldmere Swimming Club is aimed at promoting the art of swimming and associated activities, this includes instruction, the coaching of swimming and Water Polo to competition standard and for recreational purposes. The membership fee is designed to cover the expected costs of running the club in the next year. This year we have suffered significant increases in the cost of water time and increases in lifeguard compliment especially for Wyndley. The membership classes have been revisited in order to try and provide greater simplicity and clarity for the membership. The fee structure now includes the sessions at Castle Vale and Newtown. This year, for the first time we have included the ASA membership fees in the basic fee structure. Members will normally swim in the sessions allocated to them by their instructor. Requests to change sessions or swim additional sessions will be assessed by the Chief Instructor and be subject to swimmer ability and the availability of suitable space. Additional sessions agreed through the year will be charged on a pro-rata basis. The membership fee structure for the Year starting 1st September 2001 to 31st August 2002 is as follows:
Treatment of Bank Holidays When a normal Erdington session falls on a Bank Holiday, provided the member has made appropriate arrangements with their instructor they will be entitled to swim at Wyndley or Castle Vale that week.
Diving A fee of £3.50 per session for occasional Diving only. Regular diving and swimming on a Thursday counts as a double session.
Water Polo Water Polo members shall pay the standard Club fee plus a Water Polo supplement as follows:
For persons in the above category who wish to swim there is a membership fee of £10/yr plus a water time charge to be agreed with the Treasurer. This class of membership is subject to the availability of water time and will be reviewed throughout the year.
Payment of Fees The preferred method of payment for membership fees is by cheque or standing order. Members will be responsible for any costs incurred by the Club in relation to cheques or standing orders not being honoured by a Bank.
Multiple Family Members In the case of families having 2 or more children as members and wishing to pay annually a phased payment scheme will operate. Separate cheques will be accepted for the full annual fee or instalment post dated by 1 month from the due date for each subsequent child.
Membership Discounts Reductions in Membership Fees are available to parents/members who assist in the running of the club. The club is always in need of qualified instructors, pool-side officials and lifeguards. These are required both on a regular or fill in basis. Anyone interested in assisting in this way should contact in the first instance a Registration Secretary at Erdington or Wyndley.
Liability for Membership Fees Members who change their membership class during the year will be required to pay the additional fee on a pro-rata basis. It is important to note that the major items of expenditure are committed on an annual basis and that membership fees are for a full year. Members who wish to terminate their membership should do so by informing, with at least 2 months notice in writing the Registration Secretary at Wyndley or Erdington. No fees already paid will be refunded unless previously agreed with the Treasurer. The Club reserve the right to change the membership fee structure without notice.
