LUNCHEON CLUB
The Luncheon group meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 12.30 in the Community Centre and invites anyone over 70 to come along and enjoy a relaxing meal and lively conversation.

Scarecrow Festival and Trail

Hillam and Monk Fryston are planning a Scarecrow Festival on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. The scarecrows will be displayed in front gardens and public spaces on a trail through the villages.  The theme of your scarecrow can be anything you like- from a traditional model to a well- known character, person or animal.  Let your imagination have free reign.  We will need to know the theme of your scarecrow by Monday 8 September so that we can prepare a competition trail as there are lots of categories# and also prizes to be won!!! 

Categories are: traditional – comic – children’s – business - organisation

All money raised will go to Community Association Projects and all fun had will be for FREE!

There will be a scarecrow making session in the Community Centre on Saturday 6 September when straw and stuffing will be available for anyone who would like some help with their creation.

Village Photo Competition

Monk Fryston and Hillam Villages are staging a Photo Competition during the Scarecrow Festival on 13th and 14th September. We invite you to join in and submit your entry for display in the Community Centre.

Pictures on the theme:   ‘In my Garden’ Or ‘In my Village’

Submit your entry with £1 fee to the Village Store by Thursday 11th September.

Winning entries will apear on the village websites.
