Crucian Carp Cyprinidae Carassius carassius.
Distribution : Common south and east England, localised elsewhere. 
Notes : no barbels, convex anal fin, 15-19 branched dorsal rays, 28-33 scales along the lateral line.

This hardy species never grows to any great size, but will often thrive in waters where other species cannot. It lacks barbels and feeds mainly on the bottom.
