Biography

Born in Wakefield in 1967, Neil Crossland is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and major RCM Prizewinner in both Performance and Composition, studying Piano with Peter Wallfisch and Composition with Edwin Roxburgh and Timothy Salter. His awards include the Major Van Someron Godfrey Prize for the best portfolio of English Songs, the Adrian Cruft Composition Prize for Crossland's String Quartet No 1 and the Joseph Horowitz Prize for the best composition for Piano with his Sonata No. 2, Hypnosis. His Piano Trio won the Dorothy Coates Prize for the best performance of Poulenc's Piano Trio.
