Warwick Ball organises small group, tailor-made tours
to unusual destinations not normally available through other operators.
Most have art treasures, archaeology and architecture as their main -
but by no means exclusive - object. Groups are always small, usually
limited to twenty, though more often having no more than 10-15. None are
"off the hook"; all are unique, tailor-made itineraries
reflecting specific interests expressed by the clientele themselves.
None are available through agents; all are private, available only
through a private mailing list. All are based on an intimate knowledge
of the countries and their cultural heritage as well as a first hand
experience of the region that stretches back over thirty years. All are
led by recognised authorities in their field, and other specialists
occasionally offer lectures or private visits to their own excavations
that might not otherwise be open to visitors. Although the tours all
follow a particular theme, they are open to all and are never
overbearingly intellectual - there is ample time to simply relax and
wander round bazaars as well!
These tours pride themselves on the high standard of
information offered. In addition to comprehensive, up-to-date practical
notes provided on booking, everybody receives detailed, authoritative
historical and site notes in the form of an illustrated Programme. Each
has been tailor-made for the specific tour, and is exclusive to those
who travel on the tours.
All tours are arranged in conjunction with an agent
in the host country and Connoisseur Travel in Edinburgh. Connoisseur
Travel hold ATOL Licence No. 2954 and are members of ABTA, No. 93081, so
all bookings and monies lodged with them are covered by the fullest
guarantees. They have been trading for over fifteen years and have
developed an excellent reputation for operating special cultural tours
as well as cruises on both sea and river.
Unless where otherwise stated, the cost of all tours
is fully inclusive, covering full board, flights to and from UK, travel
within countries, all stated excursions, transfers, porterage, all tips,
etc., so that the advertised cost reflects the full cost of the tour.
Accommodation is always the most appropriate, usually the best
available. In practice, this usually means 3-5 star, and travel is in
comfortable modern coaches. None of the tours involve camping, hiking or
"roughing it" in any way.
