The Importance of Early Learning

The most important age for a puppy to learn the social skills needed to be a happy, well trained and adjusted dog, is between the age of 3 weeks and 16 weeks. Dogs that lack early social experiences can be difficult to train, and may acquire long-term behaviour problems.

Restricted contact with humans during puppyhood can created limitations in the dog's ability to obey commands. The more a puppy is handled in its early days, the more likely it is to respond to training. It is very difficult to achieve all of this whilst you are out at work. You may come home each day to a bored and destructive puppy, which may grow up into a bored, destructive and antisocial full-grown dog.

Puppies are naturally playful, this is how they learn the strengths and weaknesses of the other members of the pack. And how they learn to stalk and hunt.

All our puppy training is reward-based, enjoyable training, using play, toys, titbits, praise and clicker training. Sessions are short, with plenty of play and sleep time, for the very young puppies.

Your puppy will not want to go home after school!
