I just love weddings. We
women are not allowed out of the house very often, so a wedding is a real joy. I must look my best for Carintha. New hairpins, rings for my
fingers and my ears ... the finest that Polyphus cannot afford!
I shall make Momes boil the flowers and herbs and I
shall wear their perfume.
I think I will wear my hair high, coiled and waxed,
with that little gold band that Messupa bought me last year.
Then we will dance. Music
played on lyres, flutes, tambourines, cymbals and castanets. The men
will dance their dances and we will dance ours. |
