Heimdall

Heimdall was brought by his nine sisters, wave-maidens from the world´s end.

Heimdall was the lookout of the Gods and lived next to the Bifrost bridge at the edge of Asgard.
His teeth were of pure gold, and he could see as well by night as by
day. He could  see things a hundred miles away.

His ears were so sharp that they could hear the grass growing in the earth and the wool on the backs of the sheep.

He needed less sleep than a bird.

He had a  Horn beside him to blow if the Giants attacked Asgard.

Balder

Balder was the son of Odin and Frigga. Balder was the fairest and the gentlest of all. He had a dream that he was going to be killed. His mother made every living thing on the earth ... animals .. plants ... promise not to harm him.

Unfortunately she forgot to ask the mistletoe.

Loki made a dart out of a mistletoe branch and tricked Hoder, who was blind, into throwing the dart at Balder. The dart killed him!

The gods put Balder in his longship Ringhorn and built a great funeral pyre upon it.

The gods tried to get Balder back by sending   Hermodur to the underworld.
He came back with the message that Balder could only return if all things in the world,  wept for him. Loki didn't weep!!

Tyr

Tyr was the bravest of all   gods and the only one who could feed  Fenrir the wolf. Look carefully at the picture and you will see that he only has one hand.

It was Tyr who, when  Fenrir  was to be fettered, in pledge gave his hand and placed it between its jaws and got it bitten off. None of the other Gods would do it.

Skadhi

Skadhi's father died. To cheer her up the   gods decided to let her choose one of them to be her husband.

BUT .... She had to pick her new husband  only by looking at his feet. She wanted to choose Balder ... who was very handsome.
She picked Njord by mistake, thinking his feet belonged to Balder.

Njord and Skadi could not agree on where to live. She didn't like his home  at the Sea, and he didn't like her's  in the mountains, so they lived the first half of the year in one and the other half in the other.

Njord

Njord was the God of the Sea and the trade at sea.

Njord was prayed to before journeys at sea.

Why do you think he had beautiful feet?
