I don't appear to have QBASIC

QBASIC to my knowledge only comes with MS-DOS version 5 and up, including the versions supplied with Windows. QBASIC.EXE is provided on the Windows CD-ROM, in the \TOOLS\OLDMSDOS directory. Copy both the QBASIC.EXE and QBASIC.HLP files into your \WINDOWS\COMMAND directory if you have Windows.
Regarding Windows ME and 2000, I believe that QBASIC is also supplied with these but I don't know for certain.

It has several good techies waiting to answer your questions and I hang around there a lot too.
