He was born on 27 June 1843, in Warren County,TN..
He enlisted on the 28 May 1863 at McMinnville, TN.
He was wounded and captured at the Battle of Perryville (Chaplin Hills), 8 October 1862, when he was part of the Colour Guard. He sent to Harrodsburg Ky. in December 1862. Exchanged 9 January 1863 at Vicksburg, Miss.
He is on roll of POW's at Camp Douglas 31 March 1863 and was returned by April 1863, so most likely had been captured again.
Appointed 2nd Sergeant in the summer of 1863.
Received two very severe wounds at Atlanta, 22 July 1864, these were so bad that is was though that he didn't have long to live.
Captured near Murfreesboro (Stone's River) 16 December 1864 and sent to Camp Chase.
Took the Oath 24 March 1865?
Became Clerk and Master of Chancery Court in Warren County, TN, in the early 1900's.
Married to Nellie Rogers who died on the 14 April1920 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, McMinnville, TN.
He only lived a short while after his wife dying on the 20 July 1920 and is buried next to her.
