Flyers from 2001
Flyers handed out during 2001 (or picked up off information desks, sent in mailings) are featured in this second year of the series. The emergence of at least three new clubs meant that a larger number were produced in 2001. Other flyers from past years are also featured, including those for El Metro when it ran on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Whilst these 'extras' are not strictly defined as having been produced in 2001, the the Metro ones were re-introduced during the year because the Lambada Saturday nights at Metro still applied at least. There is one for salsa too, but there is of course a lambada connection! Last year's collection were in chronological order as far as possible, but this year no attempt has been made to put them in any order.
Our first two flyers are features from individuals, rather than clubs or organisations. We begin with this nice flyer from Joanne and Dennis, the UK champions for 2000. They seem to be the only individuals who have produced a professional flyer so far. Jo&Den

Salsa might be the dance in question, but our individuals are none other than Joseph Koniak and Solange Dias, the official Salsa champions of 2001. This was for an intensive salsa workshop in Covent Garden back in November. Joseph & Solange

House of Samba The ever popular House of Samba at Havana on Sundays has had its fair share of flyers. This latest one Features just a pair of lips, and the information at the back gives details of the resident band and dj's, plus capoeira classes by Master Axe and 'Grupo' Palmares.

Solange's Samba Dance workout, begun in October 2001 at Danceworks, is the theme on this flyer. The inset picture has a number of well known faces from the lambada and samba scene in London, as well as the Dias sisters themselves. Samba Dance Workout

El Metro 1 Traditional beach-wear, including the environmentally friendly way of recycling coconut shells, feature on this side of the El Metro flyer for the now defunct Wednesday nights there.

On the reverse side of the Wednesdays El Metro flyer, Fridays and Satrudays were featured. At the time of writing this, only the Saturday nights remain. El Metro 2
