Congregational Guides

The guides meet every Wednesday evening between 7.30pm & 9.00pm in the church hall. At this present time the company has a membership of 15 girls with an age range of between 10 and 14 years.

The company is a member of the East Oldham District Guide, Brownie and Rainbow Association.

The weekly Guides meeting cover a wide and varied programme of activities. These include badge work, group games and craft work. We are a singing Guide Company and have a wide repertoire of campfire songs.

The company also has a successful record of badge attainment for such badges as cooks, childcare, crime prevention, agility, and collectors. During the last year, 1999, a number of the girls achieved some of the following, more unusual type of Guide badges: care for the elderly, deaf staged badge, and challenge. Two Emblem badges being worked on at the moment are service flash and little house.

In June 2000 the company are holding an indoor camp at Ebenezer Congregational Church in Uppermill. Longer-term activities being planned include a trip to London, for a long weekend, during May 2001.
