RACE INFORMATION

RACE PACKS

Race packs containing numbers, race information and timing chips will be sent to all competitors early in the new year and two/three weeks before race day. In the meantime you can check your entry on line HERE

LOCATION

The race starts at the Helsby Sports & Social Club, Chester Road, Helsby, Cheshire, on Sunday 21st January 2007. The club is situated on the A56, 1 mile from Junction 14 on the M56. Follow the Helsby signs when leaving the motorway. The club is on the left hand side as you approach Helsby.

CAR PARKING

Parking is available at the Helsby Community Social Club and at Meres Edge estate further along the main road. The car park locations are shown on the map. Please use them. Approach the car parks from the Chester direction of Junction 14 of the M56. To ease flow of traffic, turning right into the car parks from the Frodsham direction will NOT be permitted. Please do not cause congestion by parking on local side roads.

CHANGING FACILITIES

Changing facilities are available in the Club House. Showers, hot for the fast runners, cooler for the rest, are available. Regretfully we cannot accept responsibility for kit and valuables.

ENTRY LIST

An fully detailed entry list will be on display at the front of the Club House.

START

The start is 100 metres across the main road from the Club. Please do not assemble at the start until requested to do so at 10.45am. When moving onto the road please follow the Marshalls' instructions and line up according to the projected finishing times indicated.

ROUTE

The route is shown on the map. Just over the first mile is on the main road and this will hopefully be closed to traffic. It then follows quiet, scenic country lanes, all of which are tarmaced, although some have a covering of farm mud!. Part of the route follows the Cheshire Cycleway. Note the lanes will not be closed to traffic, so please be careful to follow marshals' and police instructions in order to assist in the smooth running of the event. Beyond 8 miles the course rises very steadily, however this is compensated for by a wonderful last 2 miles down Towers Lane. We believe the course is capable of producing some fast times for fit runners.

DRINKS

Drinks stations will be located at 4 miles and 9 miles. At the club, free hot and cold drinks will be available to finishers. Hot drinks and snacks will be available throughout the day from vendors outside the Club House and the bar will be open well before the first runners arrive home !

For those not in with a chance of the mainstream prizes, don't be disheartened, an abundance of spot prizes will be awarded on the day!.

TRANSFERS

If you are unable to race on the day your number is not transferable. Transferred and illegal numbers cause problems for both results officials and medical / police personnel in the event of accident or injury. They effect the accuracy of and delay the production of results, the presentation and final results mailing. Please only race if you are a legal runner.

RESULTS

Results will be posted on the notice board at the front ofthe Club House as they become available. A full and final list of results and analysis will be mailed to all competitors FOC, but please allow 28 days for receipt.

PRESENTATION

The presentation ceremony will take place as soon as possible after 2pm in the Club House lounge. Prize winners should make themselves available or arrange for someone else to collect on their behalf. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited.

KIT STALLS

We will have two local kit suppliers in attendance on the day. Official Four Village Half Marathon merchandise will be for sale on the day in the clubhouse entrance.

MEDALS

All finishers will receive a cased commemorative medal at the finish.

Finally, Helsby Running Club hope you enjoy the race.
