Fell Running Championship

Below is the calendar for the Helsby Running Club's own fell running championship as it was originally intended at the begining of the year. The foot and mouth crisis put paid to that as well as to much else. It is now the middle of the year and restrictions are at last begining to be lifted, although it is taking a lot longer for races to be organised. It is our intention now to try and hold a mini series if at all possible with 3 races to count out of 5 (assuming that we can find 5 suitable events between now and the end of the year). If you are interested in fell running then the FRA's website should be the definative version of what is actually taking place, unless you have heard directly from the organiser.
For our Club Championship purposes :
Race 1 : Saturday 14th July. Dinas Bran - BS. 4m/650'
Race 2 : Saturday 11th August, Dwygyfylchi - AM 10m/2700'
Race 3 : Saturday 8th September, Pen Y Gwely - 2pm - CS? 5m/600'
Race 4 : Saturday 3rd November, Shepards Skyline, Todmorden - 2pm - BM 6m/1150'
Results so far
Our intention is to provide a series which will prove to be both challenging and of interest to a wide range of our club members beyond just the hardened fell addicts. Where there is sufficent interest, especially for the evening races, we hope that we'll be able to convince Robbie to join us with his minibus and make a real evening of it.
All the events have been drawn from the Fell Runners Association's calendar of events. A link in our list will either take you to the race's own website or give you an e-mail link to the organiser.
As per our road running club championships, a runners best seven races to count, the first club runner scoring 20 points, the next 19, the one after 18 and so forth.
* These two races are English Championship Races and are pre-entry only.
