On December 21st, 2000, the village received some very good news. Hendred stores had won the award of 'Best Village Shop in Oxfodshire - 2000'.

This is a remarkable achievement for the Andrew and Joanne Bunting who took on the lease and running of the shop little over a year ago.

Congratulations must go to the pair who have done their utmost to insure that the village has all the services that the shop can possibly offer. Anything from sending a fax to getting a freshly made sandwich is available, as well as all the normal sevices associated with a newsagents and corner shop.

The staff are also always courteous and willing to help.
