Harvest Success
The HHI team of volunteers are now fully operational in the new office with e-mail address heaIthhelp@live.co.uk, phone number 01633 671055 and fan heater! Our postman knows where we are, and there has been no shortage of post! Each day alternative gift orders are processed and we have had a fantastic response to the Harvest appeal to purchase a dairy cow for Isca village farm. Neatly £4,000 has been collected in total which will certainly enable HHI Zambia to buy several cows and provide shelter pay for food milking equipment and if necessary, any unforeseeable vet fees. We have been overwhelmed with your response once again. Many thanks go to each and every one of you for contributing to the beginnings of the lsca Dairy herd.
New organisational structures here have been mirrored by structural changes in Zambia too. October 11th saw the new board of trustees for HHI Zambia meeting together in the HHI headquarters for the first time, with Dr John Phiri being voted as the Chairman. It is wonderful to know that someone who is himself a beneficiary of HHI is now willing to help oversee the work on your behalf. We welcome John and all the other trustees to their new responsibilities and we pray for their strength and guidance.
In their role they will work with the senior staff in Monze and ensure that all is well. We will be expecting monthly reports and, accounting procedures to be communicated to the UK on a regular basis.
