North Wales sent to Coventry
No, it's not what you might think – people are still talking to us; and we keep looking for opportunities to spread the story and needs of HHI in this area. This heading refers to something that happened recently and confirms that God uses people in his work.
At a meeting one Thursday evening, people started talking about raising funds and someone mentioned that we should try and speak with the Soroptomists. I must admit, I had to ask who they were and found out that they are a charitable organisation of professional and business women committed to enabling women and girls to achieve their potential.
When I returned home the next day, June had a message for me from my sister in Nuneaton: “Would you come to Coventry next Tuesday, because our speaker has let us down”. Not wanting to miss the opportunity, I spoke to her and agreed to go along and to talk about HHI. I decided to focus on the work HHI does for women and children in need. Unknown to me I discovered that my sister was the president – of what group? Yes, the Soroptomists!
Imagine talking about something one day and then discovering it was to happen the next day for no apparent reason other than God was working through unrelated people. Seeds have been sown, please pray that they may blossom into something more in the coming months.
