HHI Anthem

In a land that was parched and baked dry by the sun,
In its hard heart nothing would grow.
A well was dug because somebody cared
And the water began to flow.
A man stood up and tilled his crops
And his babies soon stopped their weeping.
I looked again at that new-life man
And I saw Jesus reaping.

Refrain:
In so much as you did it to these, said the Lord,
In so much as you did it to these.
In so much as you did it to these, said the Lord,
You did it unto me.

In a land where many are sick and disabled.
And the mothers try hard to cope,
A medical van from someone who cared
Came to them with new heart and hope.
A wife stood up and learnt to tend
And her babies grew better feeling.
I looked again at that new-life wife
And I saw Jesus healing.

In a land where some children couldn't hear or see.
In today's world they had no part
A school was built because somebody cared
And the learning for life could start.
A girl stood up and signed her name
And those babies new skills were sharing.
I looked again at that new-life girl
And I saw Jesus caring.

In a land that was torn with a want and a fear
And the children had little to eat,
The world looked on as if nobody cared
As if grinding them under its feet.
A boy too weak to stand just hunched
And the babies were past their crying.
I looked again at that old-life boy
And I saw Jesus dying.
