Gift Aid

Under the new gift aid regulations announced by the Chancellor in his last budget, it has become much easier to donate to Charity and for the Charity to reclaim income tax on that donation. This has been achieved by expanding the Gift Aid Scheme. So from April 2000 the following new rules apply:

The minimum limit of £250 for Gift Aid Donations has been abolished.

The scheme will apply to any donation, whether large or small, regular or one-off.

The requirement that donors must pay income tax at the base rate equal to the tax deducted from their donations has been removed.

Donors simply have to pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax deducted from their donations.

Donors are able to claim higher rate tax relief for their donations against either income tax or capital gains tax.

We are therefore able to reclaim 22p for each £1 you give throughout the year.

Examples of how much tax this Charity can reclaim on donations made are as follows:

            Amount given             Amount reclaimed

      £10.00                                     £2.20
      £25.00                                     £5.50
      £50.00                                  £11.00
    £100.00                                  £22.00

Please consider taking advantage of this simpler form of Gift Aid to help enhance the Charity's income each year.

Please go to the Gift Aid Form print it out and send it to us completed.

Thank you.
