Alarm applet is a simple GNOME panel applet that provides a way of letting the user know that a particular time has arrived.
It can display a dialog with a user defined message, flash the applet visually or run a specified command. The framework for having a sound alarm is also there, but is unfinished at the moment. NB As of version 0.8 sound alarm support is present.

This is the latest stable release. It is by no means finished, but it is perfectly functional.
Redhat 6.0 RPMS:
Binary (Redhat 6.0) and source RPM packages of 0.6 are also available.
These have very kindly been made by Christopher Craig.

I have made a modification to the cdplayer applet that comes with GNOME. The modification provides a drop down list of all the tracks on the CD and allows you to select a track by it's number rather than having to go through the process of repeatedly pressing the next/prev buttons. Just click on the LED with the track number to get a list of available tracks.
The patch has been tested against the CVS version of GNOME, but should apply cleanly against the release version as well.
I have also made a more comprehensive patch that allows you to change the color of the LED on the cdplayer applet. This patch incoperates the above patch that provides a track listing as well as providing an option to turn if off if it is not wanted. All options are controlled from the properties menu item.
A small screenshot of the track listing menu.

I have also hacked the Wmfire WM dock applet to work as a GNOME panel
applet. At the moment it is as rough as hell, but it works, at least for me,
so have a wiz if you want.
Version 0.2 makes the applet fit your panel size. So if you are using
the CVS gnome-core then the applet should fit to the exact size of your
panel. Requires a fairly recent CVS version as it uses the pixel size
methods within the panel.
If anybody *REALLY* wants a version that uses the old panel sizeing code then
let me know and i'll send you one.
