So far Intermedieval. has managed to get its first two AGM's under its belt and bought several members of Ordem da Cavalaria do Sagrado Portugal {OCSP} to the battle of Tewksbury in 2000, 2001 and 2002, With several Polish and Italian Knights bolstering the numbers. Next year we are looking to do far more but consider our first two years to be a good indication that there is a wish for and international group like Intermedieval. with more groups and traders joining daily we hope to have a good year ahead.

The three day Annual Meeting of the Intermedieval for 2003 will be at Terena Castle in Portugal.
Facilities
There’s going to be at least a bar at the castle with affordable food and drink. Everything has to be paid in €uros (the European currency), so do the usual exchange before arriving to the castle (whether before leaving your country, or on the arriving to Portugal, that’s up to you).
However, if you’re going to cook at the site, there will be wood enough for everybody’s fireplace. The only thing you’ve got to do is to produce a list where you state the groceries you’ll need for cooking during the event. We’ll talk to the local suppliers to bring them to the castle everyday in the morning. The payment must be done directly by you to them in cash (in €uros, the European currency) at the time of delivery.
A sleeping-bag should be a part of everybody's luggage, so don't forget it.
We will provide the inevitable toilets and showers, so that you can smell like roses during the whole of the event…
Basic Rules
- Everybody should follow the instructions given at the site by the staff organizing the event.
- Be polite and helpful to everybody around. Re-enactors are basically supposed to be a family, remember that.
- Keep the place clean. We’ll supply plastic bags for the garbage.
- Keep modern stuff out of sight (watches, cigarettes - you perfectly know what). As long as you are in costume, have in mind that the public (and your mates at the camp) wouldn’t expect you smoking around or spying your wristwatch.
- Do not bring pets, please. They can eventually disturb your neighbour at the tent next door.
- No cosmetics allowed, namely coloured contact lenses.
- Drugs and too much drinking are absolutely forbidden. People are supposed to enjoy themselves and not to disturb the fellows around.
Any reasonable doubts you could still have don't hesitate to make them known to us.
The Camp
- The camp will be pitched inside the fourteenth century castle. The nearby village retains most of its medieval flavour and the landscape around is perfectly delightful. Even a rare example of a fourteenth century fortified church built not far from the castle could be visited.
- There will be also an area for the traders and another for the combats and the bow shooting. At the tavern food, wine and beer will be waiting for your kind visit...
- Plenty of wood will be supplied for fires, so you can sing and be merry around the burning logs ‘til you’re tired enough to get to bed.
The Event Itself
The traders - Free from paying any fee at all to the organization they will concentrate all their energies in selling their stuff whether to re-enactors or to the public in general that will attend. They should preferably be in costume.
The living history re-enactors - They are also a prominent part of the Meeting. Their task will be partaking experience among themselves, living their role in full as they perfectly well know how to and assisting the public in its curiosity and thirst of knowledge.
The bowmen and the crossbowmen - During
the morning there will be general training and exchanging of tips. Everyday in
the afternoon a contest will follow, a symbolic prize bestowed on the best.
The combatants - The mornings will be devoted to practise among them on a
workshop basis. This will be fundamental for the establishment of an agreed set
of rules to follow in the combats between combatants from different societies.
In the afternoons tournaments will be held in several kinds of weapons and
according to the periods portrayed by each society (for instance, twelfth
century combatants will hold twelfth century tournaments, thirteenth century
combatants thirteenth century tournaments and so on). Symbolic prizes will be
awarded to the best.
Chivalric attitudes must always guide the combatants on the lists, rude behaviour being punished with exclusion of the misbehaved combatant from the lists.
