Intermedieval (UK branch)

Formerly Known as The international medieval alliance

Intermedieval has the principle aim of providing a platform for international medieval activities. Promoting everything from: - Medievalism in Europe, to Cultural awareness - living history presentations, International Marketing & Trading, youth education and the interchange of information and ideas. It is intended to incorporate these and other factors into a historical educational presentation format, which will be presented to the relevant European Union bodies by Intermedieval, where it is hoped it will be formally recognised

The main ideals of Intermedieval at its inception were as follows

1. To work towards the creation of an international set of standards for the conduct of medieval tournaments
2. To exchange information on individual group objectives, combat standards, and political situation
3. To discuss the value of medieval re-enactment as a mechanism for the preservation of European history
4. To create the seedling of an international organization that will help forward these goals

Intermedieval also wishes to formulate a set of international guidelines for; Safety, Combat, Armour & Equipment (based around Great Britain's - National Association of Re-enactment Societies (NaReS) and Early Medieval Alliance (EMA) edged weapons safety guidelines).
