NBA M.E. (Part II)
by Maximum Hops

Its the turn of a new millenium and changes are being made

Just as the Millenium bug came a year later than expected for computers, so it does for the NBA, however this [bug] is unprecedented.

Its time for the youth to lead the NBA, there were signals of the eruption, when KG became the first high school player to enter the pros since Shawn Kemp.

Then a year later KB8 and Tim Thomas.

They were the forefathers of the modern game, still shining bright in their respective domains.

Now, more than ever, the youth have literally taken the reigns of the NBA.

Just 10 years ago (when Mr. J was running things), there wasn't a team in the NBA that would have ever thought of building their future around a freshman out of college let alone a high school player.

Now, the largest franchise and the franchise on the largest stage (Bulls and Clips) in the past decade are doing just that. They are planning for the future of their franchise around players that are barely (legally) able to purchase alcohol.

Now, don't misunderstand me I aint hatin on the young guys. In fact i'm all for it, cause you can lie to yourself as much as you want but truth remains that the NBA would be boring without the rising stars.

Where would the ratings be without the moves of the Franchise (SF), or the explosiveness and finesse of TMac, and I ain't gonna start about Vince.

Anyway, what i'm trying to say is, people are quick to shun the league for having young players, but its the youth and their innovation that keeps the ratings up.

Until Mr. J returns
