Macbeth is Macbeth's wife, and also a main character in the play
It is she who persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan, and she helps
to cover up for him when he sees Banquo's ghost at the banquet.
She also pretends to faint when Duncan is discovered dead, and
frames the servants as Duncan's murderers.
In the end, however, she goes mad with guilt and commits suicide.
