SNOWFLAKE
"Make" and "do"
"I'm making a cake";
"You're making a mess";
"Make me an offer";
"I'll make an exception in your case";
"You're making a mistake";
"What shall we make now?" (i e what shall we physically prepare or construct?)

"Do me a favour!";
"Do the washing-up for me!";
"He did something he regretted next day";
"She's doing that all wrong";
"What shall we do now" (i e what activity shall we undertake next?)

"Do you always make tea at four o'clock?" - "Yes, I do";

Idiomatic use of these two words demands practice; there are no cast-iron rules for them.

(Note, incidentally, that we take a photograph.)
