"Six months" and "18 months"

How would you say "It happened six months ago" or "She was only eighteen months old at the time" in your own language?

If you would express these times as fractions of a year, remember that English usually measures such times in months. (In fact, it is quite common to use "twelve months" instead of "a year" in ordinary speech.)
