The Digital Photography Show - London's first exhibition dedicated to consumer digital cameras took place on Saturday 29th September at Central Hall Westminster - a stone's throw from Parliament and Westminster Abbey in the warm autumn sunlight. The event was an opportunity for the major players in digital cameras to show and sell their wares under the sponsorship of What Digital Camera and CameraWorld. Cameras launched at the show included the Olympus E-20, Sony F707 - both using the Sony 5.2Mp RGB imaging chip used in the Minolta DiMAGE 7. Pentax were selling their EL-2000 2.24Mp SLR for half price. The heavy-weight pro cameras like the Nikon D1X, Canon D30 and Fuji S1 were also available to handle. An excellent range of lectures and a cafeteria serving all day made it a great venue.
