2005 Sept 7: ISS make a perfect pass through the zenith - images via Canon 300D DSLR + 35mm fl f/2.8 lens; exp 10s

2001 Feb 20: ISS recorded on schedule via 35mm f/2.8 lens + MX9 CCD in 90s exposure passing west to east through Orion adjacent to M42 nebula.  Transparency very poor i.e. Orion just visible to naked eye!  However test exposures some 4.5 minutes prior to ISS records a second satellite [frozen in mid frame] that is presumed to be Atlantis Shuttle !

This posted on NASA page...[2001 Feb 20] STS-98 Crew Performs Deorbit Burn; Atlantis Begins Descent to Edwards Space Shuttle Atlantis and the STS-98 crew are headed home.  The deorbit burn was performed at 1:27 p.m. CST (19:27 GMT), to begin the final leg of Atlantis' journey back to Earth.   Atlantis will land at Edwards Air Force, Calif., at about 2:33 p.m. CST (20:33 GMT). Atlantis and the STS-98 crew will be returning home after a successful visit to the International Space Station.
My photo below of 19.07UT  taken 30 minutes before deorbit burn - wow!!!

2001 Feb 18:ISS seen on same track as last two evenings - passing through zenith at 17h55m39s UT in late twilight and again at 19h31m41s on a lower track towards planet Saturn in south-west through now increasing light fog.  First pass captured [17mm fl f/4 lens + MX9 CCD] but not the second [35mm fl f.2.8 lens + MX9 CCD] as it faded into earth's shadow 10o west of Saturn :o(   Apparently Atlantis Shuttle had not returned to Kennedy Space Centre - Florida and was ahead of ISS by two minutes but not expected or seen.

2001 Feb 17:  Lens swapped for 17mm wideangle, 20s exposure and full CCD frame as Atlantis [top] passes M31 galaxy [hazy star 20mm right of track] and precedes ISS [bottom] - the two craft move further apart over 24 hours.
