Loss of Licence Plan
INSURANCE THAT KEEPS YOU MOBILE
It is easy to take your mobility for granted, whether its for getting to and from work, making service calls or simply for your weekend enjoyment.
But have you ever thought what might happen if you lost the use of your bike?
Deprived of your Licence your livelihood could be at risk and, as any biker will agree, it is all too easy to gain speeding convictions with GATSO Cameras snapping todays high performance machines.
Unfortunately, you can also lose your mobility for many more reasons than you think.
DISQUALIFICATION
Just one speeding offence or 12 points over three years could cost you your licence. While speeding and totting up offences are avoidable, even careful bikers can be caught out. Convictions continue to rise now that photographic evidence is admissible and penalties have become tougher.
Nearly 400,000 motorists each year are learning the hard way that roadside speed cameras are not always dummies with no film inside.
REVOCATION THROUGH ILL HEALTH
Sadly, many bikers every year have their licences revoked as a result of ill health. Reinstatement can be a lengthy process; covering the cost of alternative transport in the meantime will invariably prove extremely expensive.
INABILITY TO DRIVE DUE TO INJURY
Its all too easy to suffer an injury. Whether it happens at work, playing sports or as the result of a bike accident. Just one broken limb or even simple whiplash could be enough to keep you from driving for some time, severely disrupting your daily life.
ACCIDENT, THEFT OR VANDALISM
If your bike is off the road because of an accident, theft or vandalism, it could be weeks before you are mobile again. The cost of hiring a replacement could be prohibitive, and is often not covered under your standard motorcycle policy.
Compare the cost of alternative transport to a premium from just £3.50 per month
Alternative transport to maintain your mobility could prove inconvenient and very expensive, as the figures show.
Distance from Home to Office Cost of taxi @ £1.50 per mile per day Cost of Taxi @ £1.50 per mile per month 15+ miles 5 14 miles
£45.00 £30.00
£900.00 £600.00
MAG Loss of Licence Plan is a low-cost alternative that pays up to £14,400 for your choice of transport, such as hire cars, motorcycles, hired drivers and taxis to keep you on the road.

MAGMAX Clubs affiliation package
What is MAGMAX? Well we within MAG have spent a lot of time listening to our affiliated club members over the last 5 years. It had become clear to us that certain changes were needed to the MAG Affiliated Club Scheme and we have spent the best part of a year working through these changes. We have now been able to put together a whole new package, which we hope will meet the needs of your club. The name of this package is MAGMAX.
The list of benefits to your club contained within MAGMAX is extensive and includes public liability cover at an extremely competitive rate, the need for clubs to have such cover is increasing and is always a wise when organising your club events. Free advertising is also available in our fantastic tabloid bi-monthly newsletter 'Streetbiker'. Individual members of the club also get benefits including discounts at Premier MAG events. For a full list of all the benefits and conditions please see the benefits section of this leaflet or contact us direct for a more detailed information pack.
The clubs information pack not only includes full lists of benefits but tells you more about, MAG as an organisation, it's history, it's aims, and it's position on various issues, it is available free of charge from MAG Central Office so why not request your clubs pack today.
Part of the new MAGMAX scheme has had to include a new scale of membership fees. For some clubs this involves a small increase in the fee payable, for others it means a decrease. The new scale can be found overleaf so you can see what affiliation fee will be payable by your club. Fees range from as little as £50 for up to 50 members to £600 for over 3000 so as you can see we cater for clubs of all sizes no matter how large or small.
Administration wise all renewal dates for affiliations have now moved to 1st January with fees payable by the 31st of January. This months flexibility is to aid clubs who also have a January renewal date for their membership and may not know till the end of the month the number of members they wish to affiliate. Remember that the scale shown overleaf is for fees due for the full year so your fee should be reduced pro rata if you are joining after January. If you are unsure as to the revised amount due then please contact MAG Central Office and we will be glad to calculate it for you.
Representation of your club within MAG is through two channels, firstly in future your club will be allocated one full voting membership per each 1000 members or part thereof that your club affiliates, with a minimum of one full voting membership and a maximum of four per club. We will do this by giving full individual membership to the members of your club that your club nominates to receive the full membership package.
The full membership package will of course also entitle the nominated officers to receive the enhanced range of benefits available to full MAG members.
The second channel is through direct representation on MAG's National Committee, by the elected Clubs Co-ordinator, this is currently Debbie Jones. Debbie is known to most motorcycle clubs in the UK and was last year rewarded for her work on behalf of MAG Affiliated Clubs by being presented with Honorary Life membership of MAG at our Annual Group Conference in Scarborough. She can be contacted through Central Office or by email direct at magclubs@mag6.demon.co.uk.
We hope you will agree that the new MAGMAX package is fair, clear and attractive and that you will feel able to offer us your valued support in our fight for riders' rights and become one of our affiliated clubs. We look forward to receiving your completed application form with the appropriate fee for your membership.
Should you have any questions relating to the scheme or other issues please feel free to contact us direct.

MAG Benevolent Scheme
MAG, the UK's leading riders' rights organisation has launched another new member benefit. MAG has set us a benevolent fund and from 1st January 2000 will make a cash payment of £200 to the next of kin of any full individual member who suffers death by accident.
In proposing this new member benefit MAG Chairman Neil Liversidge said: 'MAG aims to look after its members. I personally am determined that MAG will provide its members with more benefits and better benefits than any other motorcyclists' organisation. £200 is not a large sum but it will still help in the unfortunate and tragic circumstances of a sudden death by accident. As MAG grows larger and financially stronger the payment will grow in both amount and scope, so that we provide a constantly increasing level of support to MAG members and their families. We are not the richest bikers' organisation by any means as will be obvious when you consider that the BMF's profit on its annual show exceeds MAG's total turnover. All the same, we aim to use what money we have to the absolute best effect. Our members give a great deal to MAG. We want to give some help back to them when they need it most'details to be confirmed
