Annual Worldwide Travel Insurance

This is a comprehensive Worldwide Annual Travel Scheme with optional extension for continental Breakdown and Recovery Insurance. Exclusive to members of MAG and their families, arranged by Edgar Hamilton Ltd and covers all aspects of your holiday arrangements.

Summary of cover
This summary is only intended to describe briefly the cover provided. The Evidence of Insurance which will be issued to you upon receipt of the Application and premium, defines the cover provided and the exclusions in precise terms.

Personal, Accident, Death, other Capital Sums. £10,000.
In the event of accidental death, loss of limbs, loss of sight or total disablement, this Insurance will pay the above benefit.

The benefit of £10,000 increases to £50,000 whilst travelling from place to place as a ticketed or fare-paying passenger in or boarding onto or alighting from any land, water or air conveyance being operated by common carrier under a licence for the transportation of passengers for reward.

The death benefit will be limited to £2,500 in respect of children.

Medical Expenses. £5,000,000
To reimburse the Medical Expenses incurred outside the United Kingdom, following the death, bodily injury or ilness of the Insured.

This section includes additional accommodation and travel expenses incurred as a result of the death, injury or illness of the Insured, spouse (including common law spouse), partner and close relative.

Hospital benefit. up to £1,500
To pay £50 per day for each day that the Insured is confined to hospital outside the United Kingdom as an in-patient

Cancellation, Curtailment, Delay. up to £5,000
To reimburse the Insured for cancellation charges if the holiday is cancelled or to repay a proportionate amount of the cost of the holiday if curtailed due to:

  1. death, injury or illness of the Insured, spouse (including common law spouse), partner, close relative, business associate, or travelling companion.

  2. redundancy

  3. hijack, quarantine, witness or jury summons.

  4. major damage or burglary at home or work.

If departure is delayed due to strikes, bad weather or breakdown, either:

  1. £30 for the first 12 hours, £15 for each full 12 hours thereafter up to £150

or

  1. if the delay is more than 24 hours, up to the cost of the holiday, not exceeding £5,000 should the insured decide to cancel the holiday

Personal Baggage, Clothing or Effects and Money. up to £1,500
Loss or damage to accompanied personal baggage or clothing or effects and money subject to:

  1. A limit of £250 any article or pair or set of articles

  2. A limit of £500 for money, subject to a maximum of £250 for cash, bank or currency notes.

Delayed Baggage. up to £150
If baggage on the outward journey is temporarily lost for more than 12 hours Underwriter will pay for emergency purchases up to £150.

Personal Liability/ up to £1,000,000
To indemnify the Insured against Legal Liability claims for death, bodily injury or damage to property

Legal Expenses. up to £25,000
To pay legal costs and expenses to pursue a claim against a third party for accidental death, illness or bodily injury, or damage to property

Journey Continuation. up to £500
To indemnify the Insured for reasonable costs incurred for travel and accommodation in reaching an overseas travel connection as a result of strikes, bad weather or breakdown.

Information

The period of Insurance is 12 months

Scheme Eligibility
All members of the Motorcycle Action Group and their partners, plus all dependent children under the age of 18 years.

Insured Trips

  1. All Holidays of 60 days or less, with a destination outside the United Kingdom.

  2. Winter sports holidays up to 17 days in total during the period of insurance.

Partner means any person who has co-habited with the member for at least 6 consecutive months.

Family means the member, partner and all dependent children aged up to 18 years, who normally reside with the member or their partner.

All the above premiums include Insurance Premium Tax as levied by H.M. Government

Warranty

  1. At the time of effecting this insurance the Insured Person(s) are not aware of any reason why a holiday should be cancelled or curtailed.

  2. The Insured Person(s) will not be travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner or for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment or where terminal prognosis has been given.

CEGA Emergency Service
We provide a full 24 hour Worldwide emergency service 365 days a year. Full details of this service are incorporated in the Evidence of Insurance.

Main Exclusions

  1. The first £30 each Insured Person, each claim.

  2. Mountaineering (normally involving the use of ropes and/or guides), sports tours and motor competitions.

  3. Pregnancy and childbirth if delivery is expected during a trip or within 2 months thereafter.

  4. Venereal Diseases or A.I.D.S.

  5. Any condition or set of circumstances known to the Insured Person(s) at the time of booking a trip or effecting cover where such a condition or set of circumstances could reasonably have been expected to give rise to a claim.

  6. Winter Sports exclude ski and ski-bob racing in international or national events, services or inter services championships or heats or officialy organised practice or training for these events, ski jumping, ice hockey, or the use of skeletons or bob-sleighs.

  7. The cost of continuing regular medication for any condition in respect of which advice or treatment is being followed at the commencement of any trip.

  8. Money loss not reported to the police within 24 hours of discovery and a report obtained.

  9. Jewellery, valuables and money whilst in the custody of a carrier.

  10. Loss of luggage, clothing or personal effects left unattended

  11. Any claims, arising from any health condition or an Insured Person where such condition has already been the subject of a claim under this Insurance in respect of an earlier trip.

Subject always to the full terms and conditions of the Insurance

General

Any trip which at the commencement is known to be longer than 60 days is not covered for any part of the trip.

Any business trip is not covered

Any holiday trip which presents a special hazard is not covered without the prior written consent of Underwriters.

 

Optional Extension Continental Breakdown & Recovery

This policy provides you with the option of extending cover to include Continental Breakdown and Recovery Insurance, only available in conjunction with the Travel Insurance.

Summary of cover

Transport of party to destination or hire charges for another motorcycle or transport home.

Additional hotel expenses up to £100 each person.

Miscellaneous additional expenses (including cost of freight & spare parts) to expediate repairs or make motorcycle servicable.

All the above covered up to £1,500 in all.

Warranty

That the motorcycle at the start of the tour is in good mechanical condition and regularly serviced by a garage or the insured in accordance with the maker's instructions.

Main Exclusions

  1. All costs of permanent repairs to the motorcycle and permanent replacement parts.

  2. Mechanical breakdown resulting from seizure or overheating due to lack of water, oil or frost damage.

  3. Motorcycles over 15 years old.

  4. Motorcycle competitions.

  5. War and Civil war.

  6. Any expenses referred to herein which are recoverable under the insured's Motorcycle policy or under A.A. or R.A.C. Continental breakdown or other services, but if the total amount of expenses is not wholly recoverable, underwriters will indemnify the insured in respect of any excess expenses up to but not exceeding the sum insured..

  7. Costs of returning a hire motorcycle to its owners is not recoverable..
