‘On Track for level E’ by the end of P7

This series of home support materials is ideal for pupils who are in a top maths group and could be going faster or stretched more fully with their maths.

Many children can be.

This series is for able children only - phone to make sure it is the correct series.
Less than 10% of P7’s currently manage to attain their level E by the end of P7, but it is likely that this number will consolidate and grow in the next few years.

There is a pack for each primary year which supports and encourages your child to get and keep ‘on track’ for attaining their level E by P7. The materials are adapted from the successful school/teacher series already developed by Tom Renwick.

The support pages tend to focus on a particular skill at a time, and children respond well to this approach.
Each primary year pack costs £40, which includes p&p and answers.
There is a 20% discount if you buy packs for more than one child in your family: eg. two packs from the level E series would then cost only £64.

Your child would need to do about
2 sheets a week, although they can do more if they wish — and parents often say they do. They can start the E series at any primary stage — they don’t need to have done the Primary 3 home support pack for them to start doing the Primary 4 home support pack. However, the earlier they start to get ‘on track’ for level E by the end of P7 the better — P6/P7 can be too late if they’ve been ‘off track’ for some time.

If you are considering purchasing a pack from this series it is advisable to have a chat beforehand, in order to make sure that this is the right series to best support your child. It is only suitable for able children.

The ‘on track for level E’ series encourages your child to attain their:

  •  level A maths by around Easter of P2 (about 70% of pupils attain their level A by the end of P2)
  •  level B maths by early P4 (about 10% attain this)
  •  level C maths by around Christmas of P5 (about 30% attain their level C by the end of P5)
  •  level D maths by around Easter of P6 (about 10% attain their level D by the end of P6)
  •  level E maths by the end of P7 (less than 10% attain this)
Achieving level E by P7 means your child should then start, or continue with, their level F progress when they go into first year at High School. Levels E and F have maths which is already at Standard Grade level.
