Hardanger, fully-rigged 9-string fiddle. Fanitullen strings, set up for high tuning (a' at Bb' or c'). The violin features the highest level of decoration applied to a hardanger - over 300 pieces of mother of pearl inlay, complete rosing to front, back, sides and neck, from a Gunnar Rostad design, and a set of hand-made traditional tuning pegs. The head is gilded with genuine gold leaf, and the instrument is finished with oil varnish. With a one-piece back and [Swiss] spruce front, all timber is highest quality fiddle-makers wood.

The violin features a more modest level of rosing, from a pattern by Gunnar Rostad to the front, back, and neck. The head is carved to a traditional design, and the instrument is finished with oil varnish. With a one-piece back and [Swiss] spruce front, all timber is highest quality fiddle-makers wood.
