PROCEDURE
1. Surface Preparation
a) Concrete shall be a minimum of 21 days old and/or the residual moisture content shall be below 6%. Ensure that the concrete is clean and free from dust, laitance, grease, oil, curing compound, existing paint finishes, etc.
Blow holes and defective concrete shall be made good using a proprietary repair compound e.g. Floorpatch MMA. Suitable mechanical treatment, such as vacuum grit blasting, is the preferred treatment prior to application, as this ensures a mechanical 'key' which will optimise adhesion.
b) Steel surfaces shall be shot blasted or grit blasted to a nominal Sa 2.5 Swedish Standard.
All dust shall be removed prior to coating application.
A coat of Tackprimer MMA shall be applied as soon as practicable after blasting, in order to obviate the possible occurrence of 'flash rusting'.

2. Priming
a) Concrete surfaces shall be primed with a coat of Tackprimer MMA, applied by brush, roller, or airless spray, at the nominal rate of 0.3Kg/Sq.m.
Long nap lambswool rollers are recommended for primer application. Allow primer to cure fo ra minimum of 30 minutes.
b) Steel surfaces shall be primed with Tackprimer MMA (see section 1b above).

3. Mixing
Deckcoat MMA is supplied as a four pack material consisting of: the RESIN component, the CATALYST component, the FILLER component, and a PIGMENT component.
Add the CATALYST component to the RESIN component and mix thoroughly, preferably by mechanical means, for a minimum of 2 minutes. Pour the contents into a mixing vessel, and add the FILLER and PIGMENT component whilst stirring. A low speed drill with paddle attachment may be used, or else a forced action mixer e.g. Creteangle type.

4. Application
Pour the mixed material onto the prepared and pre-primed surface, and apply by serrated trowel to the desired thickness.
De-aerate the material by spike rollering.
Within 5 minutes, broadcast the appropriate aggregate at a nominal rate of 8Kg/Sq.m. When cured, sweep off excess aggregate.

5.Sealing
The application of a clear sealer coat is recommended to reduce tendency towards staining and dirt pick up, and thereby ensure optimum ease of cleaning.
Apply a roller coat of MMA Clear Sealer, flexible grade, at a nominal rate of 0.3 Kg/Sq.m. and allow to cure for a minimum of 2 hours prior to putting back into service.

6. Equipment Cleaning
Clean all equipment, immediately after use, with TOOLCLEAN.

7. Curing
Allow a minimum cure time of 1 hour @ 20C prior to overcoating or foot trafficking. For optimum chemical resistance, a minimum cure time of 24 hours @ 20C should be allowed.

8. Packing
Deckcoat MMA is supplied in 20Kg packs.

9. Coverage
A 20 Kg pack is sufficient to cover an area of 2.8 Sq.m. at a thickness of 4mm.

10. Storage and Shelf Life
Store in dry, cool conditions, preferably at temperatures between 10C and 20C, and out of direct sunligbt.
Adequate ventilation of the storage area should be provided.
Keep containers tigbtly closed when not in use.
Deckcoat MMA has a minimum shelf life of 6 months when stored in original, unopened containers, in accordance with manufacturer' s instruction.

11. Limitations
Do not apply to wet or uncured concrete.
Deckcoat MMA will taint food during application, so that all foodstuffs in the immediate vicinity must be removed or properly covered.

12. Health and Safety
Deckcoat MMA is flammable during application, so that adequate safety precautions should be observed.
Please refer to the separate Material Safety Data Sheet and General Information Sheet before use.
