Although we first printed out the below warning in 1999 the subject message is still of course highly valid. Fundie opposition against holistic therapy is growing and every practitioner must resist or go the way of the dinosaur! SAFF & PAN websites contain a plethora of information that relates to this particular matter. We suggest that ALL holistic therapists familiarise themselves with it pronto! In the second half of this newsletter we dealt with the odious prejudice against Pagans that came from the Bishop of Lincoln.

There are numerous seemingly unrelated secular beliefs (often not of a religious nature) which the Evangelical-Machine regularly targets. Abortion, Euthanasia, Homosexuality etc, all such Freedom-of-Belief issues come under the Fundie hammer as topics they'd love to have settled under Holy-Writ! Since the early days of Christianity, the Church Fathers and their minions have been seeking to disenfranchise all alternative philosophies, which they perceive as conflicting with their absolutist Biblical-Doctrine.

Into this suppressive arena comes COMPLEMENTARY HEALTH. We all know how Herbalism, Dowsing etc were used during the infamous Burning-Times as categorical proof of guilt by the inquisitorial 'Matthew-Hopkins' fan club back in the 1600s. Well guess what- nothing has changed that much! The reason for ancient and contemporary Xtian prejudice herein is largely due to Holistic Health's long PRE-CHRISTIAN heritage that of course links intimately with PAGAN FAITH SYSTEMS. If you wrongly think that today's Xtian mentality is somehow more 'liberated' then please digest the following vital information.

The CHURCH of ENGLAND'S very own leading medical columnist, DOCTOR PETER MAY has recently been warning his trusting readership that Complementary Therapy is misleading, pretentious and harmful.

PAN picked up on May's  trail following his article aimed against 'Chiropractic Therapists' back in November of last year. He therein goes on to warn that: Patients of Chiropractic are "Impressed by the Mythology" and that Chiropractors use 'meaningless party tricks' to treat their patients. He finishes by warning of the uselessness of paying money to Chiropractors and Deceptive Behaviour in this profession.

A representative from PAN. wrote to the BRITISH CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION about May's diatribe and received an informative response. The BCA stated that Dr May had recently been interviewed on RADIO 5 LIVE and had therein made extremely misleading comments about Chiropractic. They also sent a copy of their reply against May's tirade to PAN, which was later to appear in the C of E's own letter's page. Later on last year and at the start of 1999, May continued his assault on Chiropractic, Reflexology, Spiritual Healing, Aromatherapy, Herbalism etc. PAN wrote again to several other Complementary Health organisations warning about May's activities. The matter was  also brought to the attention of a local MP who supports a parliamentary organisation connected with Complementary Health concerns.

The most positive response to date has been from the BRITISH REFLEXOLOGY ASSOCIATION who stated that they found it hard to understand why the C of E should print such misinformation against Holistic Therapists, especially when the Queen and Prince Charles are supporters of Complementary Health. PAN swiftly wrote back to enlighten the BRA about how a leading REACHOUT DIRECTOR had once, at the height of SRAM hysteria, mentioned Charles as: 'Flirting with the Devil', via his personally held beliefs. The BRA thanked PAN for bringing the issue to their immediate attention and later they had a well-constructed attack printed in the C of E's own newspaper against Dr May, which helped in some way to put the record straight. May is not just any old solitary religious zealot  as some individuals might believe. In his latest diatribe May mentions proposals that he put forward to THE EVANGELICAL ALLIANCE.

You might wonder what May's alternative suggestion to Holistic Therapy is. Well surprise surprise! An invitation to mature Christians to pray for the sick in the privacy of their own homes (Evangelical House-Moot Style no less) and repentance of sins before God, remain as his stated first choices for recovery! It doesn't take a genius to realise how damaging/misleading propaganda spouted out by the Mays in society will be to all Holistic-Therapists and in our case to those (especially Pagans) who practice/patronise them!

Vigilant PAN members will recall that we warned of REV TOM WILLIS and other Satan-Hunting clergy back in 95. This troublemaker recently appeared on TALK RADIO. As you can expect, we were treated to the usual, 'Evils of Paganism/Satanism' routine. Following this, we wrote to Talk Radio alerting them to the SRAM-related dangers of giving these fundie activists the upper hand on air. More worrying though was a later caller to the programme who stated that he was a Pagan then ranted on about ANIMAL-SACRIFICE in the Lewisham area. Who this individual was we do not yet know. It's very doubtful that he was a genuine Pagan at all and more likely that he was a Fundie-activist/agent provocateur  fuelling the latest Animal-Abuse fires following recent misleading RSPCA mentions of Satanic Animal Abuse in the media. All we have on this Talk Radio nut is the name-"GUY" and his mention of a "PAGAN CHAPEL" in Croydon. Needless to say, any PANNERS out there with any relevant information on this disconcerting situation should contact us pronto, so that we can get to the bottom of this Pagan slur forthwith!

The BISHOP OF LINCOLN stated in several tabloids (last November) that: 'THERE ARE 15,000 SATANISTS IN GB WHO PLAN TO DESECRATE CHURCHES AND THAT PAGANISM WILL DESCEND UPON THIS COUNTRY.'

He went on to call for action against this perceived threat. Again, the SAFF have written an excellent piece on this odious situation so we won't labour the point here. Consider though the damage such diatribe will do to the UK's Pagan community. There's not much joy here for Xtian-orientated Pagans who try to link hands at Christo/Pagan INTERFAITH with these leading Church, Satan-Hunters. Make no mistake, the old Witch-Prickers are still with us. They work clandestinely under the cloak of moral good, to deprive all citizens (who fail to subscribe to their intolerant worldview) of their freedom to choose. The above examples show clearly how they deviously seek to manipulate the minds of the ordinary secular population with evil misinformation and religious HIDDEN AGENDA!

Pagans who really do care about liberty must don the garb of the Salii, draw in the awesome red power of MARS-ULTOR (or other vital-action Deities envisaged) and combat this theocratical monster at each and every opportunity. THE UNBALANCED, WHITER-THAN-WHITE, NEW AGE TYPE, PAGAN STYLIST WHO MERELY SMILES AT EVERY FUNDIE-CREATED THREAT, HOPING IT WILL GO AWAY, IS FAILING IN THEIR DUTY TO THE OLD-GODS.

Light without dark (and vice versa) is anathema to all universal Pagan harmony/wisdom and in the end leads only to piety and gross ignorance. These Interfaithing plastic pretenders who bury their heads in the sand own their true allegiance to Christianity and its repressive monotheistic mind-set. This is the main reason why they turn a blind-eye to all forms of totalitarianism, which frequently occurs, even in their own so-called Pagan organisations. THINKING MEMBERS of these groups are often alienated/censored for expressing valid concerns to the PAGAN ARCHBISHOPS and it is these thinkers who must rise up and expose the rot within. If we fail to act on essential issues through the usual - I'M ALRIGHT JACK type attitude (which has now unfortunately descended onto modern Paganism like a sick plague), then the forces of fundamentalism will win, point-blank!

PAGAN EDITORS WHO ARE RELUCTANT TO CONSTANTLY ADDRESS THIS ONGOING SITUATION AND INSTEAD TROT OUT THE SAME OLD HEAPS OF ESOTERIC/MYTHOLOGICAL CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE SADLY MISSED THE MAIN POINT. FAIL TO KEEP YOUR MEMBERS UP TO SPEED WITH THE FUNDIE-MACHINE AND SOONER RATHER THAT LATER YOU WILL EVEN LOSE THE RIGHT TO PRINT ANYTHING!

Pagan editors have a serious obligation to persistently enlighten their readership to the dangers mentioned above. Powerful Evangelical censorship will one day, when the time is right, manage to disenfranchise ALL Pagan literature out of existence. Whilst apathetic Pagan editors are deciding whether or not to run that glossy piece on the merits of Crystal Awareness, our foes will have managed to convince the public authorities that Pagan/occultist literature is subversive and must be censored before kids get hold of it!

PAGAN EDITORS REALLY DO IGNORE THE ABOVE PAN WARNING AT THEIR PERIL! IF YOU BELONG TO A PAGAN ORGANISATION OTHER THAN PAN THEN YOU SHOULD BE ASKING YOUR LEADERS JUST 'WHAT' THEY ARE DOING TO COUNTER SUCH EROSION OF BELIEF WHICH WILL EFFECT PAGANISM'S BEST INTERESTS IN THE LONG TERM!
