General Dynamics F 111.   The "F" designation is somewhat misleading, as the role of the F 111 is that of all-weather attack bomber, or strategic bomber.  The F 111 F is powered by two Pratt & Whitney RF30-100 engines of 25,100 lb. thrust each.  The maximum speed (clean) is about 1,450 mph (2,335 km/h), the service ceiling is 60,000 feet (18,290 m)

The Rockwell B1 B multi-role strategic bomber has a crew of four, pilot, co-pilot, and two systems operators (offensive and defensive).  The range is intercontinental.  The swing-wing configuration of the B 1B makes it capable of operating at very low level at  high subsonic speed.  At altitude the speed is supersonic.  Maximum take off weight is 477,000 lb. (216,367 kg)  The power units are four General Electric F101-GE-102 turbofans. each in the 30,000 lb. (13,608 kg) class.  Armament consists of three internal weapons bays capable of accommodating a extensive range of both nuclear and conventional weapons.  Eight under-fuselage stores stations are also provided.

The Lockheed SR 71A "Blackbird" another Superb American aircraft no longer seen in the U.K.  It entered service in 1964, and to date nothing that any Nation will admit to operating, can fly as high or as fast.  35 years on exact performance figures are still unknown.  Many records are held by the SR71 and it is certain that the performance figures exceed a maximum speed of 2,000 mph and a height of 80,000 feet, with a range of around 3,000 miles.  The role of the aircraft is reconnaissance. The two man crew wear pressure suits.  For many years the SR 71 flew over hostile territory almost on a daily basis, there is no record of one ever being brought down.

The McDonnell Douglas F 15 Eagle.  This aircraft is certainly one of the finest fighters ever built, it has staggering performance figures and can attain a altitude of well over 70,000 feet (21,000 m)
