About the Group |
In the early 1980s a Group of Aviation enthusiast employee's at BICC Wrexham and their friends got together and formed BICC Aviation Group as a sub section of BICC Social Club. With the support of the founder members and enthusiasm of the Chairman, John Williams, the group grew to such an extent that by the late 1980s it was decided to meet on a regular basis each month. As part of the BICC Social Club this was not possible, due to over demand for the facilities at the club premises. A meeting of the members was called, and it was decided to reform the group with a change of name to Wrexham Aviation Group, and to find premises where regular meetings could be held. The Wrexham RAFA club were approached and they agreed to make available their large meeting room to the Group on the second Tuesday of each month. With the change of name it was decided to adopt a new Group Logo, a competition was held from among the membership, and by popular vote the above design submitted by myself was chosen. |

The Aims of the Group |
To Arrange meetings and outings of Aviation interest, both civil and military, for example: The visiting of R.A.F. and U.S.A.F. bases, Civil Airports, Aircraft manufacturers and to host visits by Representatives of the above to meetings of the "Group". The "Group" caters for families, (no age limit) Individuals and such bodies as local A.T.C.'s all of which will be made welcome by the "Group". |

| Every second Tuesday of the month a Group meeting is held at 7.30pm at the Royal Air Force Association Wings Club. Ruthin Road Wrexham. Why not call in and see what the Group has to offer you and your family. |
