Construction Rules for V12 Class Cars (Hot Rods)
Construction Rules for Standard Class Mini-Stox
- All cars to be Mardave Mini-Stox only and to be a reasonable representation of a full-size Mini type car. Cars to be raced straight from the box with the following exceptions:
- The servo-saver may be changed from the original, including track rods and ends.
- The tyres may be changed from the original. Sleeved rear tyres are allowed.
- Lexan bodies are allowed; bodies to conform to Rule 1.
- Ballraces are allowed on the rear axle only.
- Countersunk screws may be used on the underside of the chassis.
- Alternative bumpers may be used, made of a suitable resilient material. Mounting brackets must remain as per kit. Bumpers must protrude through the body shell.
- 3mm holes may be drilled in the chassis for mounting purposes only. All holes drilled must be used. You are allowed no more than four 3mm unused holes in your chassis, but these must be filled.
- The motor may be fitted on either side of the chassis, providing that there is no modification or alteration to the chassis or motor blocks.
- Maximum width of car to be 6.5in (165mm)
- Maximum length of car to be 11.5in (292mm) including bumpers.
- Front and rear bumpers to be fitted, and must not project beyond the outer edges of the wheels, and to be fitted as per Rule 1.
- Maximum width of tyres as follows:- Front - 1in (25.4mm); Rear - 1.25in (31.75mm); Maximum tyre diameter to be 2.25in (57mm)
- Cars to use 4 cells only. Cells to be sub-C Ni-Cads, rated at 1.4A/hr (or lower) and 1.2 volts. Battery capacity to be easily identifiable. Current kit cells are also allowed.
- Motor to be as supplied in the kit, and must remain unopened
- Steel whip aerials and rollover masts are not allowed. Aerial tubes to be a maximum height of 8in (203mm) from the track surface, if an overhead gantry is used, otherwise 12in (305mm).
- Cars to have reverse fitted and working at the start of each heat.
- All cars to have clear front and rear windows, and four clear side windows (as per Rule 1). Tinted windows are banned.
- Driver’s name and BRCA number to be on the outside of the car, clearly visible.
- When initially entered at a meeting the body shell must be neatly presented and complete.
- Body and chassis must be securely joined at all times the car is on the track.
- No wings or aerofoils allowed.
Where the above vary from those in the current BRCA handbook, the BRCA rules are to be taken as correct.

Note
There are currently no BRCA rules to cover this class. Therefore, these rules may be subject to change after the BRCA AGM and should be considered a “work in progress”. Drivers should experience no problems providing that they conform to the spirit of the rules as described above.
Construction Rules for V12 Class Cars (Hot Rods)
- All cars to be Mardave V12 series only. Cars to be raced straight from the box with the following exceptions:
- Gear ratios may be changed.
- Springs may be changed.
- Ballraces are allowed on the rear axle only.
- Body mountings may be changed.
- The servo-saver must be as supplied with the Mardave kit.
- Chassis must be as supplied with the kit with no modifications; no holes or slots for lightening. Four holes may be drilled only for the servo mounts. Countersunk screws may not be used.
- Speed controller to be Mardave resistor type only. This may be modified by incorporating dynamic braking or by resistor variation.
- Cars to have reverse fitted and working at the start of each heat.
- All aerials must be internal; no whip aerials
- Any motor supplied by Mardave may be used. Cleaning fluids or additives are permitted.
- Only Mardave compound tyres may be used; kit softs or MG compound.
- Cars to use 4 cells only. Cells to be sub-C Ni-Cads, of any rating and 1.2 volts.
- All cars are to run well finished body shells of ABS plastic. Windows must be clearly defined. Body shells to be of Mardave manufacture or approved and currently include V-Dub, Peugeot 205, Ford RS Turbo, Ford Nastruck and Renault Megane.
- Rear wings or spoilers may be fitted with maximum dimensions of 13cm width and 6mm chord positioned not more than 3cm above the roof of the body.
- Driver’s name and BRCA number to be on the outside of the car, clearly visible.
- When initially entered at a meeting the body shell must be neatly presented and complete.
- Body and chassis must be securely joined at all times the car is on the track.
Where the above vary from those in the current BRCA handbook, the BRCA rules are to be taken as correct.
