Bannockburn

The battle of Bannockburn was one in a long line of battles when Scotland fought for independence against the English. The English king, Henry II, had already captured Wales and was heading for Scotland. Scotland remained independant until the United kingdom was formed. As you can see in the law section, this is the first time Scotland has had a separate goverment for over 300 years. In the 1300s, the United Kingdom was all separate, until they were merged. The first king of Britain, was A scot!!!!!!!! Certain political parties like the SNPs(they rock!!) are intending on having it like it was in 1300!!!!

On with the story! In 1314 the scots and the English prepared for a battle. The english army who was strong, and out numbered the Scottish army by over 3-1. The scots had small horses and crap weapons. The English had the best avialible. The English were to invade acrross marsh land. The scots set traps and left it. This made it very hard to cross, especially with horses. The Battle took place, with bruce as the leader and it was won by the Scots. After the battle the Bannockburn flowed red with English blood.
