Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle is one of the most important forts in Scotland. It is no longer used. You can go and visit and look at the wonderful kitchens, recreated. You can discover all about its history on computers and displays. Look at the National trust for Scotland site, or Castles for more info.

Edinburgh was used in many battles. It is on top of a clif, with one main way up, whick would have been gaurded, but there were paths that children would discover. Sometimes, trators from the scottish side went to the enimies camp and told them of the paths, but the paths were single fire and boiling oil would be poured over the side. Nowadays, you can get a little cd player thing at the begining, with headphones, like a walkman, and when you come to certain parts of the castle, you see number signs on the side and you can press buttons on the walkman to get information. It is avialable in lots of languages.
