Nessie is said to be alive in Loch Ness to this day. It is one of the main attractions and has several websites(Click here to view one), a special nessie museum and a couple of restaurants.
There have been many attempts to catch or find nessie, but they have all failed due to the deep loch and the nooks and cranies. The only way that we could be sure nessie existed is to find her, or drain the Loch. Draining the Loch is not an option, so people are left to hunt!
The way Nessie started out was when some monks were walking by the Loch and one asked if he could have a swim. He went in the Loch and was eaten alive, with monks as his witness.
One storie about Loch Ness goes:
There was once a man(I forget his name) who visited Loch Ness to find the monster. The press were there on the first night of his journey.
One girl from a newspaper was intending on getting the scoop. She had arranged an interview with him in a pub. She was asking her questions about it but the other journalists kept butting in. The man seemed more happy to answer their questions than her's. She got really annoyed with him. She thought he wouldn't find nessie. The next day, however, she was proved wrong when he claimed that he had lured the monster out of the Loch. He had footprints to prove it. The girl thought that even although she didn't like him, she had to do her "scoop!". She was looking at photos of the prints and reading the notes from her interview as she was writing the article and noticed that the footprints were exactly the same, left and right. If a human walks alog out of a Swimming pool with a gradual slope, with sand, eath print would be different be cause of how wet the person is, or just the way that they were walking. Nessie's prints were all the same. She had foiled him! The man was never seen in Loch Ness again.
Nessie is thought to be a family of nessies, because if there was one, even if it really was a monster, it would die eventually. One though is that it is a dinosaur, that survied what ever it was that killed all the dinosaurs.. You can see in the picture that is may have been a plesiosaur.
