Following the death of Brian Prior , Rmarg now has a new chairmen in the form of Don Summers .

Don takes over at a difficult time with talks of moves and re-organisation.

LANCASTER TURRET FOR WELFORD COLLECTION

In June the Ridgeway Military & Aviation Research Group recovered the top gun turret from a Lancaster Bomber . The recovery was supervised by Mike Berrie& Wayne Oliver from Morton in the Marsh. Upon arrival the turret Member Fred Fred Gidings and his team cleaned the turret and located a pair of spare replica guns. The turret is presently on display in the main entrance to the museum.

New RMARGAZINE Editor Takes Over

Tom Bailey late Editor of Rmargazine

You May have noticed some changes with your latest Rmargazine . Mark Bailey has now taken over the reins of our group publication from his late father Tom Bailey .Hopefully over the coming months you should see some the quality of production increase as we take advantage of modern digital technology. Mark is keen to see the magazine continue in the same vein and at the nigh standard set by . Hopefully members will give him support by writing articles of interest for the next edition

New Powerpoint Projector Bought

Some of you may have noticed the new group Powerpoint projector used during last months lecture. This was bought on behalf of the group to meet the needs of speakers who now frequently use new digital projection. This state of the art piece of kit was much needed to stay pace with technology.

 

 

 

 

Trip to Cosford PLANNED !!!

Sid on behalf of the Commitee has organised a group trip to RAF Museum at Cosford for April 25th 2009 . Places are still availible to see Sid at the Febuary Meeting for details . Group trips need your support.

 

 

 

New Group Tribute to be unveiled in March 2009

A New permanent display to the crew of DV290 is due to be unveiled in the RMARG Museum to coincide with the 65th Anniversary of the Nuremburg  Raid and the loss Of Special Operations Lancaster DV290. This will be unveiled By Mrs Jeannette Parker the niece of Australian Crew Member Ernest Traeger  .
