Welford's Wall Art Project 2002

During August and September 2002 Member of the Ridgeway Group paid a visit to the former American Site at RAF Greenham Common in Berkshire which is soon due for redevelopment. Having had talks with the owners and the developers it was decided to try and save much of the wall art of the former occupants. During a series of weekends a team led by Chairman Alan Bovington-Cox and Don Summers supported by many members of the Ridgeway group were successful in removing many of the historic wall art piece and returning them to Welford for conservation. Below are a few of the pictures of the wall art now in the collection. Presently we are trying to research the history of the various pieces and would be grateful for any help with the research
