Parts of Europe that are hot, rocky, and within reach of Ryanair (or some other budget aeroplane). This quest has sent me in search of high-altitude scrambling, chained paths and via ferrata; pine forests, laurel forests, montain scrub and the occasional glacier; places with plenty of mountain huts and places with convenient beaches.
