A bit about me.

My name is Chris Sidney and I am 37 years old. I am a Photographic Technician and live in Bampton, a small village in West Oxfordshire - midway between the city of Oxford (where I work) and Swindon. To the north are the Cotswold hills and the river Thames is a couple of miles south. Bampton has a long association with Morris Dancing and is also known as Bampton Castle and Bampton in the Bush.

I became interested in computers in 1981 when I bought a ZX Spectrum with 16K of memory - later upgrading to 48K. The idea was to use this for my other hobby at the time, Amateur Radio [ G4RJY ], but somewhere along the line the computing has taken over. I have progressed through an Atari ST to my present PC learning GFA BASIC and Z80 m/c programming along the way. I am now trying to learn Java. I am also interested in photography, tracing my family history and the Sidney family in general, music, reading (fantasy, historical novels, crime, great big thick books on Java etc.) and growing Fuchsias - well, actually just trying to keep them alive!
