FOUND - Arthur Ernest Sidney who was best man for my grandfather, Walter Stanley Sidney, when he married Emily Codrington in Bristol on January 17th 1914. After a recent visit to St. Catherine's house in London I have found out that Arthur was Walter's older brother - and my grand uncle. I have also added another level to my tree with my great, great grandfather George Sidney, a turner from Barton Regis in Bristol. This area no longer exists under this name so more investigative work to do!

Whilst rummaging through the GRO indexes I made a note of all the other Sidney and Sydney entries I came across. When I have time I have 10 years of births (1880 - 1890) and 5 years of marriages (1877 - 1882) - amounting to nearly 300 entries! - to add to the directory pages. If you are looking for relations during these periods I should be able to give you the references that will enable you to order the relevant certificates.
