I have done some stock-taking here at the emporium. I have taken the most popular Java Applets, rewritten them and compressed them into a single file that you can download and use for FREE.

Now you can enhance your web pages with a range of five useful Java applets - all contained in a single 23K file! Isn't technology wonderful?

Information

The SidArchive Java package contains applets that have been updated and improved. They have been created using Java version 1.1 so will not run on some earlier Java-enabled browsers.

Java 1.1 can display animated GIF images although the Sid-FX applet does not allow this. You can use animated icons on Button Menu and Active Button applets.

The applet classes now run from a compressed JAR file. This makes them even faster to download although they could be removed and used individually. The Sid-FX class file (uncompressed) is about 16k whereas the entire collection of five applets is only 23K!!

The SidArchive.jar file needs to be references in the <APPLET> TAG and the Name of the applet still has to be used so that the browser knows which class file to extract from the archive. In this example the Sid-FX applet is referenced from the archive.
